Nucleus UI 3.0 is here! Summer 2024 Updates

Hey there! We've got some exciting news for you. We've just rolled out some major updates to Nucleus UI, our all-in-one Figma UI kit for web and mobile design. Let's dive into what's new:

Full Auto Layout

We've made a big change with auto layout. Here's the deal:

• Previously, our layers were ready for auto layout, but you had to turn it on manually.
• After Figma Config 2024, they added a way to remove all auto layout at once.
• We thought about it a lot, and decided to turn on auto layout by default.
• Don't worry if you're not an auto layout fan - you can still remove it all at once, which is way easier than adding it to each frame one by one.

Slot Method Layout

With full auto layout now in play, we're introducing the slot method for layouts. It's a great way to structure your designs with auto layout, and we think you'll find it super useful.

Standard layer names

We know our patterns and kits are used for all sorts of projects, so we've kept the layer names pretty general. But here's a cool tip: Figma now has an AI feature that can rename your layers. So once you're done designing with our kit, you can use this to give your layers more specific names based on your design.

Typography Variables

We now support typography variables. We're still waiting on Figma to support percentage or multiplier for things like line height and letter spacing, but we'll add those as soon as we can.

Ecommerce and Marketing Page Patterns

We're expanding our web offerings with new patterns for e-commerce and marketing pages. If you're working on these kinds of projects, you'll definitely want to check these out.

Solid Icons

Say hello to our new solid icon family! These work great alongside our existing line icons, especially for things like bottom navigation bars on mobile screens.

More Line Icons

You asked, we delivered! We've added a bunch of new line icons based on your requests. More options for everyone!

Avatars (Style Library)

We're introducing a new Avatars Style Library. It's got a diverse range of avatars representing different ages and ethnicities, all generated by AI.

We've also made a bunch of smaller fixes and improvements:

• Added some missing elements
• Standardized naming across the kit
• Various other tweaks and enhancements
